Justice Kemal Bokhary book launch!

One of the shining beacons of Hong Kong’s legal system, Justice Kemal Bokhary, is launching his new book, Recollections, on May 9 at Kelly and Walsh in Pacific Place – and everyone’s invited! It’s a huge launch of a much-awaited tome which contains more than 200 stories chronicling the long career of the judge, who retired last year and was the last founding judge of the Court of Final Appeal. A colourful character who is known for his chatty demeanor, the book includes his own cartoon drawings as well.

The memoir is not all light humour and banter, though, as it recounts the years of Justice Bokhary’s devotion to the legal profession in Hong Kong and an incident when he was ‘Wikileaked’. He is known for his opinions and also his professionalism when it comes to cases brought before the Court of Final Appeal. Justice Bokhary has been described as the ‘conscience’ of the CFA and is considered to be a pretty liberal man too. He now sits as a non-permanent judge, attending court on occasion.

But May 9 is all about his new book. Meet the man in person at the launch of Recollections at Kelly and Walsh, Shop 204, Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Admiralty, from 5.30pm.
