And we recommend hitting up Nicholini’s at the Conrad Hong Kong, which has just brought out its new Christmas menu. Dragon and Lion Dance Extravaganza, Tue Jan 1
Starts at Canton Rd, along Avenue of Stars and finishes at UC Centenary Garden, East Tsim Sha Tsui, 6344 6188; 1.30pm-5pm. Free. Welcome in 2014 Chinese-style at this traditional  parade. Featuring over 530 auspicious mascots, the parade winds its way  noisily through Tsim Sha Tsui. Gong hei fat choi!

Bike to Illuminate Central Christmas Park Until Thu Jan 2

 Go green and illuminate IFC’s magical Central Christmas Park (based on New York’s own) , by getting
on your bike and powering the lights all by yourself.

ZLISM Alien Christmas Rhapsody at Harbour City
KidX, G/F, Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, 2118 8666; Funky patterns and bright colours replace the usual red and green at this alien wonderland. Each Sunday, there’s Christmas card and canvas bag painting workshops for the kids.
